Job summary

Plexus in Malaysia is seeking a qualified candidate for a Laboratory Maintenance Specialist role focused on GMP-compliant maintenance, calibration, and preventive care of laboratory equipment. You will ensure waste disposal follows SOPs, and operate within the document control system for lab processes.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of related experience, strong SOP adherence, and the ability to support external and internal audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 1+ years of related experience preferred.
• Experience with lab processes and test equipment validation.
• Ability to work with SOPs and document control system (DCS).

Responsibilities

• Executes GMP on maintenance, calibration and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Ensures disposal of generated waste complies with SOP.
• Uses tools to reduce chemical wastage and optimize lab equipment.
• Leads lab projects and troubleshoots chemical problems independently.
• Manages stock of lab chemicals and consumables and supports audits.

Responsibility

Purpose Statement

Key Job Accountabilities

• Executes Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) on maintenance, calibration and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment. Ensure the disposal of generated waste is complying with SOP. Execute work per SOP and forms in document control system (DCS) for lab process and operation.
• Utilizes appropriate tools to perform the work plan to reduce chemical wastage, contamination and laboratory equipment optimization.
• Serves as a technical and/or project team lead with discipline-specific understanding and responsible for the lab process and test equipment validation. Perform troubleshooting and solve the chemical problem issue.
• Successfully executes responsibilities independently and prepares the chemicals in compliance with customer requirements. Monitor the lab chemical and consumables stocks availability and well inspected for incoming stocks. Assist in other tasks and new project that require in lab. Handling internal audit and external audit, response to internal audit non conformance.
• Support the activities of a centralized chemical laboratory. Expertise in understanding of standard chemical preparation and sample tests to assure their delivery in an accurate and timely fashion using proper safety precautions. Arrange for external customer chemical sample request and make sure the requested chemicals are packed accordingly for shipment.

Education/Experience Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 1 or more years of related experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
