Job summary

Guocera in Malaysia is seeking a Laboratory/R&D technician to perform R&D project testing, material evaluation and XRF analysis on submissions from clients and internal teams. You will prepare samples, run tests and ensure data integrity within given timelines.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in ceramic tile manufacturing, strong discipline, adaptability and a proactive, team-oriented mindset. This role emphasises Kaizen and 5S participation in daily lab operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM, STPM or Diploma qualification.
• 3–5 years of relevant working experience in the ceramic tile manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities

• Carry out R&D project testing, trouble-shooting tests, and material evaluation.
• Complete urgent assignments without mistakes within given time frame.
• Be responsible for proper upkeep of laboratory facilities and equipment.
• Carry out chemical analysis by XRF, including sample preparation for various materials submitted by both internal and external customers.
• Carry out tests such as specific gravity, LOI and fired coefficient of expansion.
• Engage 5S activities and contribute towards Kaizen actively.
• Co-operate and work as a team member with all levels of staff.
