Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a laboratory technician in Shah Alam to support sample handling, preparation, and digestion processes. You will maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to SOPs and lab safety rules.

The role requires basic educational qualifications in Laboratory Technology or a related field and strong attention to detail. Training on equipment and procedures will be provided, with emphasis on accuracy and documentation.

Qualifications

• Possess at least an SPM, Certificate, or Diploma in Laboratory Technology, Science, Chemistry, or another relevant discipline.
• Have a basic understanding of laboratory practices, including sample handling, preparation methods, and the use of laboratory equipment.
• Be capable of adhering to laboratory safety requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and company regulations.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling, preparing, weighing, and documenting samples.
• Be able to perform tasks independently while also working effectively with others and maintaining a clean, well-organised, and safe laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the receiving, identification, labelling, and preparation of laboratory samples.
• Carry out sample preparation activities, including cutting, segregation, and the use of dividers and mixers.
• Accurately measure and weigh samples before the digestion process.
• Keep the laboratory clean, organised, and orderly by cleaning glassware, laboratory equipment, and work areas.
• Handle basic administrative duties, including organising and maintaining files.
• Check laboratory materials and supplies while providing support for inventory monitoring and management.
• Conduct the sample digestion process in preparation for analysis.
• Follow all laboratory safety procedures and comply with the company’s policies and requirements.
