Job summary

DXN Holdings Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Quality Manager to lead the Quality System, oversee laboratory practices, document control, audits, and corrective actions.

You will report to top management, manage staff, ensure calibration and validation of methods, and build strong relationships with customers while supporting continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Possess at least a Bachelor or Degree of Science and related field.
• Registered Chemist with Institute Kimia Malaysia.
• Have at least minimum of 5 years work experience in established Chemical Laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the quality manual and associated operation documents.
• Correspond with Department of Standard Malaysia for accreditation related issues.
• Have access to top management to perform duties effectively.
• Approve master list of forms and external documents prior to issue.
• Approve suppliers.
• Monitor laboratory practices for conformity with policies and procedures.
• Ensure Quality System is implemented and followed; report to top management on laboratory policies or resources.
• Review documents pertaining to the Quality System to ensure requirements are fulfilled.
• Receive complaints and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Form investigation teams for handling complaints and non-conformities.
• Review feedback from customers.
• Appoint staff for filing, storage, disposal and closed file records.
• Appoint lead auditor and audit team members.
• Take corrective action per audit findings or reassign.
• Plan and organize audits per schedule or management request.
• Prepare agenda and set management review dates.
• Ensure action plans from management review are carried out on time.
• Identify training needs and provide training for laboratory personnel.
• Maintain training materials from external training as reference.
• Review effectiveness of training programs.
• Ensure quality and technical records are maintained and protected.
• Manage laboratory personnel daily to ensure test quality.
• Ensure safe lab practices and good housekeeping.
• Ensure instrument calibration and verification as required.
• Ensure validation of test methods in scope.
• Review the effectiveness of risk management.
• Maintain equipment and facilities in the Laboratory.
• Build strong relationships with customers.
• Oversee laboratory operations, licensing, revenue, cost-saving and expansion projects.

Job description

• 1) Maintenance of the quality manual and associated operation documents.
• 2) Correspond with Department of Standard Malaysia for any accreditation related issue.
• 3) He/she shall be afforded the full support and freedom of action to perform his/her duties effectively and have direct access to the highest level of management.
• 4) Approve master list of form and external documents prior to issue.
• 5) Approve supplier.
• 6) Monitoring of laboratory practices to verify continuing conformity with and effectiveness of policies and procedures.
• 7) As the Quality Manager, he/she shall ensure the Quality System is implemented and followed at all times. In issues pertaining to the Quality System, he/she shall have freedom to report direct to the top management in order to have decisions made on laboratory policies or resources.
• 8) Review all documents pertaining to the Quality System to ensure requirements are fulfilled.
• 9) Receives complaints and ensure implementation of the corrective action and preventive action program for the laboratory.
• 10) Form investigation team for handling of complaints and handling of non-conforming testing work and corrective action.
• 11) Review feedbacks received from customers.
• 12) Appoint staff to do filing, files storage, disposal and maintain closed file record.
• 13) Appoint lead auditor and audit team members.
• 14) Take corrective action in accordance with audit findings or assign to other personnel.
• 15) Plan and organize audits according to predetermined schedule or requested by management.

• 18) Identify training needs and plan for the provision of such training for Laboratory personnel.
• 19) Maintain any training material received from an external training as a reference copy.
• 20) Review of effectiveness of training program.
• 21) Ensure that quality and technical records are properly maintained and protected against loss or damage.
• 22) Manage and supervise laboratory personnel on daily work activities to ensure quality of test performances.
• 23) Ensure safe laboratory practices as well as good housekeeping activities.
• 24) Ensure the instrument calibration and verification of equipment are carried out as per requirement or prescribed intervals.
• 25) Ensure the validation of test method in scope.
• 26) Review the effectiveness of risk management.
• 27) Ensure proper maintenance and operation of equipment and facilities in the Laboratory.
• 28) Build strong business relationships by working closely with customers.
• 29) Oversee the laboratory operation, lab licensing, revenue, cost-saving and laboratory expansion/ improvement projects.
