Job summary

Next Gene Scientific in Malaysia is seeking a laboratory technician to support oligonucleotide synthesis and quality control within a biotechnology setting. You will operate HPLC and LC-MS, aim to optimize synthesis yield and purity, and maintain ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality systems.

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential, with Mandarin as an added advantage. This is an on-site role in Puchong, Malaysia with health insurance provision.

Qualifications

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Science or related field.
• Experience with HPLC and LC-MS is advantageous.
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is a plus.

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping within laboratories.
• Analyze and improve current production processes.
• Operate oligonucleotide synthesizers, HPLC, and LC-MS for synthesis, analysis, and purification of oligonucleotides.
• Maintain quality control mechanisms and monitor systems to ensure reliable production.
• Coordinate with production and maintenance for new equipment and processes.
• Provide administrative support to the oligo department (quotations, PO, shipping).
• Support sales team to achieve company targets and prepare reports.

• General housekeeping within laboratories.
• Analyses and improves current production processes
• Handle oligonucleotide synthesizers, HPLC, and LC-MS for synthesis, qualitative analysis, and purification of synthetic oligonucleotides to produce high quality oligonucleotides for research and drug development programs
• Critical analysis and evaluation of data to optimize synthesis yield, purity, and formulation of modified oligonucleotides
• Maintain quality control mechanisms and monitoring systems as well as maintain the equipment to ensure consistent and reliable production of oligonucleotides with minimal down time
• Manage procurement and inventory of chemicals and supplies for oligonucleotide synthesis
• Curate and maintain the inventory of synthesized oligonucleotides
• Interacts with all members of the team
• Communicates effectively with all levels of production and management
• Coordinates with production and maintenance for the evaluation and implementation of new equipment and processes
• Familiar and able to create and maintain quality system such as ISO 9001 & ISO 13485 standards.
• Providing administrative support to oligo department i.e., quotation, PO, Shipping & etc
• To be responsible for the day-to-day administrative duties of the company
• Ensure the filing of documents is in order
• Work closely with the other members of the Sales Team to achieve overall Company Sales Targets
• Prepare and submit sales and other reports required by Management
• Help formulate marketing material and strategies for the Company
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Company from time to time

REQUIREMENTS:

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications and experience in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biomedical science or science related field.
• Experience in handling HPLC & LCMS would be added advantages.
• Computer literate with strong command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin is an added advantage.
• Strong team player with good interpersonal, initiative, independent and problem-solving skills.
• Fresh graduates/Entry level applicants are encouraged to apply.
• Applicants should be Malaysian citizens or hold relevant residence status.
