Job summary

Cryocord Sdn Bhd is seeking an entry-level Laboratory Technician to support labeling, processing, cryopreservation, and storage of cellular therapy products. You will document SOPs, train staff, and ensure quality system compliance in a dynamic lab setting.

The role requires shift work, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office. English communication is essential and laboratory experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science or an equivalent in related field.
• Entry-level position for fresh graduates; candidates with relevant working experience are encouraged to apply.
• Must be able to work on shift, including weekends and public holidays.
• Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literate with good knowledge in Microsoft Office applications.
• Laboratory experience is an added advantage.
• Must be able to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee labeling, processing, cryopreservation, and storage of cellular therapy products and related services.
• Document and implement all relevant procedures in the laboratory.
• Provide trainings and lead visits to the laboratory as required.
• Coordinate with Quality Department to ensure compliance with QMS and regulations.
• Perform viability tests, cell culture, and blood cell counts.
• Develop new tests, products, and services.
• Maintain and calibrate instruments and equipment.
• Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks of facilities and alarms.
• Ensure SOPs are current and followed; ensure safety compliance.
• Monitor liquid nitrogen levels daily and document results.
• Oversee outsourced tests and coordinate with CMOs.
• Collaborate with R&D on new processing procedures or products.
• Maintain ISO15189, MOH license, cGMP compliance.

Job Description

• Responsible for the operational aspects of all procedures which are related to labeling, processing, cryopreservation, and storage of cellular therapy products and relevant products and services as needed. This includes documenting and ensuring implementation of all relevant procedures (i.e. collection, receipt, testing, processing, culturing, cryopreservation, storage, verification for shipment of samples, treatment, transplant, quality test and administrative operations) in the laboratory.
• Provide trainings to the employees of other departments on the Introduction of the Laboratory Department and take lead on all visits to the laboratory as and when required.
• Responsible to provide trainings and to monitor laboratory staff as when required.
• Coordinate with superior and Quality Department to oversee compliance with the requirements of the Quality Management System and also applicable regulations and standards.
• Perform laboratory processes such as viability tests, cell culture, blood cell count and etc.
• Formulate and develop new tests, products and services.
• Ensure that all instruments and equipment are well maintained at all times and calibrated from time to time.
• Conduct maintenance check on all facilities and alarm systems from time to time.
• Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of the department are in place and reviewed from time to time.
• Adhere to the SOP at all times as well as ensure compliance with the safety and health regulations of the laboratory at all times.
• Monitor the liquid nitrogen level in storage tanks on daily basis.
• Monitor and document results of all outsourced tests.
• Assist relevant Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) in providing their services to the clients.
• Coordinate with the Research & Development Department for the development and implementation of new processing procedures or new products.
• Maintain all standards as per requirements of the ISO15189, MOH License, cGMP and other certifications/accreditation.
• Other duties as and when requested by the Company.
