Job summary

Jaya Grocer is seeking a Kitchen Crew for its central kitchen at Jaya Grocer Damansara Perdana. The role involves daily kitchen operations, ensuring hygiene, and delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have at least 1 year of kitchen experience and be able to work weekends and holidays.

Collaboration with Outlet Leaders and Managers is essential to maintain brand standards, hygiene, and efficient service. Willingness to travel regionally is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as kitchen staff in a fast-paced cafe/restaurant or food production environment.
• Understanding of Food Safety and Operation compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
• Ability to travel to different regional locations as required.
• Hands-on, capable of following SOP and adapting to new menu ideas.
• Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Strong commitment to quality and operational excellence, with a focus on KPIs.

Get to know the role:

Execute daily kitchen operations - from food preparation and maintaining strict hygiene standards to ensuring every dish served meets our high-quality benchmarks. Working closely with the Outlet Leader and Managers, you will play a vital role in delivering a seamless, delicious, and exciting dining experience to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily kitchen operations following SOP
• Ensure smooth workflow and coordination between stations
• Maintain fast and consistent food production

2. Food Quality & Consistency

• Ensure all food meets brand standards & SOP
• Maintain consistency in taste, portion, and presentation
• Conduct daily quality check

3. Speed of Service

• Ensure food is served within target timing
• Identify and report bottlenecks in kitchen flow

4. Inventory Control

• Control wastage, stock usage, and portioning
• Monitor daily inventory & ordering
• Ensure kitchen complies with Brands Hygiene Standard
• Maintain cleanliness and proper food handling
• Ensure personal grooming is up to company standards

You should have:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as kitchen staff in a fast-paced, high-traffic cafe/restaurant, or food production environment, though passionate fresh candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
• Understanding of Food Safety and Operation compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams - operations, executives, and suppliers
• Ability to travel to different regional locations as required.
• Hands-on, capability in following SOP while open to new menu ideals and suggestions
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, depending on operational needs.
• Strong commitment to quality and operational excellence, with a focus on achieving results and meeting KPIs.
