Job summary

Secret Recipe Cakes and Café Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated kitchen assistant to support daily kitchen operations, food preparation, cleanliness, and food safety compliance in a fast-paced environment. You will work with the Chef and team to prepare ingredients, assist during service, maintain hygiene standards, and help with stock, rotation, and equipment safety.

Shift work, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of food preparation and hygiene.
• Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
• Team-oriented, responsible, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Good communication and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and assist with cooking according to recipes and kitchen standards.
• Assist chefs and kitchen staff during food preparation and service.
• Ensure food is prepared, stored, and handled according to food safety and hygiene requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Check food supplies and assist with receiving, storing, and rotating ingredients.
• Follow portion control and minimize food wastage.
• Support timely preparation of food orders during busy service periods.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any equipment problems.
• Follow company policies, health and safety procedures, and hygiene standards.
• Perform other kitchen duties assigned by the Chef or Supervisor.
