You will handle ticketing tasks using GDS (Amadeus/Sabre), verify data, and respond professionally to inquiries while maintaining compliance with airline rules and regulations. Prior airline or travel agency experience is preferred.

About the role

AL-QUDS TRAVEL SARAWAK SDN BHD is seeking a Junior Ticketing professional to join our growing team in Kuching, Sarawak. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in our airline operations and customer service excellence. As a Junior Ticketing specialist, you will be responsible for processing flight bookings, managing ticket issuance, and ensuring accurate documentation for our passengers. This role is fundamental to maintaining smooth operations and delivering exceptional service to our clients throughout their travel journey.

Key responsibilities

• Process flight bookings and reservations accurately using airline ticketing systems and Global Distribution Systems (GDS)


• Issue and reissue airline tickets, including electronic tickets (e-tickets) and paper tickets as required


• Verify passenger information, travel documents and booking details to ensure accuracy and compliance with airline regulations


• Handle ticket modifications, cancellations and refunds whilst maintaining detailed records


• Respond to customer enquiries regarding bookings, fares, and ticketing procedures in a professional and timely manner


• Liaise with airline partners, travel agencies and customers to resolve ticketing issues and discrepancies


• Maintain compliance with airline policies, fare rules and international travel regulations


• Process payments and reconcile ticketing transactions accurately


• Support the ticketing team with administrative tasks and contribute to achieving departmental targets

What we're looking for

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification; additional tertiary qualifications in travel and tourism or hospitality are advantageous


• Strong proficiency with computer systems and ticketing software, with proven experience using Global Distribution Systems (GDS) such as Amadeus or Sabre


• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to process information accurately and efficiently


• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are highly desirable


• Customer-focused mindset with the ability to handle customer enquiries professionally and courteously


• Organisational and time management skills to manage multiple bookings and requests simultaneously


• Knowledge of airline fares, ticket types and travel regulations


• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and follow instructions from senior staff


• Previous experience in airline ticketing, travel agencies or related customer service roles is preferred
