Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a proactive defects and maintenance coordinator to support mall renovation projects. Open to fresh graduates or candidates with up to 3 years' experience in defect management, building maintenance or interior fit-out.

You will inspect sites, coordinate contractors, and document progress to ensure timely, quality repairs. Applicants should understand interior finishes, be able to read simple drawings, and travel between project sites.

Qualifications

• Fresh graduates welcome or candidates with up to 3 years' experience in defect management, building maintenance, renovation or interior fit-out work.
• Willing to travel frequently between project sites.
• Ability to read simple drawings and understand installation details.
• Familiar with mall renovation rules, access permits and safety guidelines.
• Own transportation is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and prepare defect reports with supporting photos and findings.
• Coordinate and monitor contractors to ensure timely and quality rectification works.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and internal teams regarding defect status and maintenance schedules.
• Maintain defect tracking records and submit progress/completion reports.
• Attend to urgent maintenance issues and provide on-site support when required.
• Verify completed works, ensure compliance with safety requirements and company SOPs, and assist in project handover and defect closure documentation.

Open to fresh graduates whose willing to learn or anyone with maximum 3 years experience in defect management, building maintenance, renovation or interior fit-out work are welcome to apply.

Experience or willing to experience working in mall/retail environments is a strong advantage.

Understanding of interior finishes i.e. carpentry, painting, electrical fixtures, plumbing basics and etc.

Ability to read simple drawings and understand installation details.

Familiarity with mall renovation rules, access permits and safety guidelines.

Willing to travel frequently between project sites.

Must have own transportation (motorcycle/car).

Able to work occasional extended hours or weekends during urgent repairs.
