Job summary

Wei Kwang Electrical & Air-Cond Engineering Works in Johor Bahru is hiring a Quantity Surveyor to support tendering, shop drawings, and claims management. You will coordinate with consultants and site teams, prepare material catalogs, and ensure timely submissions.

The role requires a Diploma/ Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field and at least 1 year of relevant experience; fresh graduates may be considered for junior roles.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• 1 year of relevant experience in construction or M&E (fresh grads may apply).
• Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD.
• Read technical drawings and coordinate with consultants/site teams.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tender measurements, check specifications, and coordinate with suppliers for quotations.
• Support new project submissions by preparing sample boards, catalogs, and shop drawing prep.
• Manage and revise shop drawings based on consultant feedback and design changes.
• Prepare inspection forms for site use and obtain approvals from main contractors.
• Maintain complete project documentation including claims, payments, drawings, and correspondence.
• Prepare and submit subcontractor claims and material take-offs with timely submissions.
• Prepare and submit monthly claims to the main contractor based on site progress.
• Coordinate project handover activities including operation manuals and as-built drawings.
• Ensure clear communication with internal teams to keep documentation up-to-date.
• Assist with other project-related tasks as assigned by management.

• Prepare, verify, and update subcontractor claims and material take-offs, ensuring accuracy and timely submission; manage claim worksheets and track payments from main contractors and subcontractors.
• Prepare and submit monthly claims to the main contractor based on actual site progress and approved work done.
• Coordinate project handover activities, including obtaining signed inspection forms, preparing operation manual documents, and preparing as-built drawings for handover.
• Ensure clear communication and coordination with internal teams such as site supervisors to keep documentation and claims accurate and up to date.
• Assist with other project-related tasks or duties reasonably assigned by management to support project and operational needs.
