EPS Malaysia invites applications for a Japanese-speaking IT System Engineer responsible for IT infrastructure and systems within a Japanese manufacturing environment. You will work closely with Japanese management and the Japan Headquarters to maintain operations and implement improvements.
The role offers ownership of IT operations, exposure to system administration, cybersecurity, and IT project work, with collaboration across internal teams and external vendors.
We are currently hiring on behalf of hiring company (client), a Japanese manufacturing company in Johor, for a Japanese Speaking IT System Engineer.
This is a newly created position where you will take responsibility for the company's IT infrastructure and systems while working closely with Japanese management and Japan Headquarters.

IT Infrastructure & Support
Maintain servers, networks, PCs, printers and other IT equipment
Monitor system performance and ensure stable IT operations
Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and system issues
Provide technical support to internal users
Support system installation, configuration and upgrades
System Administration
Manage user accounts, access rights and system permissions
Maintain IT documentation, network information and equipment records
Perform system checks, updates, backups and preventive maintenance
Support IT security, data recovery and business continuity
IT Projects
Support new system implementation, testing and maintenance
Coordinate with internal departments, IT vendors and Japan Headquarters
Participate in system enhancement, migration and upgrade projects
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Vendor & Security Management
Liaise with external IT service providers and software vendors
Follow up on technical issues and vendor performance
Support IT security policies and compliance requirements
Education
Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related fields
Experience
2–5 years of experience in System Engineering, IT Infrastructure, System Administration or IT Support preferred
Fresh graduates with strong technical knowledge and Japanese ability may also be considered
Technical Skills
Windows OS, computer hardware and IT infrastructure
LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, switches, routers and Wi-Fi
Microsoft 365, Active Directory or Windows Server is an advantage
Basic knowledge of cybersecurity, backup and system monitoring
ERP / MES / manufacturing systems knowledge is an advantage
Language
Japanese: JLPT N2 or above preferred
Able to explain technical matters clearly to Japanese management / HQ
