Job summary

SEMI Integration (M) Sdn Bhd, part of SEMI-TECH Group, seeks a System Engineer to join its Japan-facing software team. You will interpret Japanese specifications, design modules, code in Java/React, and test across the development lifecycle.

You will collaborate with internal teams and Japanese clients, ensuring on-time delivery. A Bachelor’s in CS/Engineering plus 5+ years of experience and JLPT N3 are required. Opportunities for regional exposure and overseas travel are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience, with exposure to Japan-facing projects.
• Proficiency in Java, React, Oracle, and MySQL.
• Experience with REST API development and Spring Boot.
• Familiarity with Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
• JLPT N3 or equivalent Japanese reading/writing ability.
• Ability to communicate with Mandarin-speaking customers and teams.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Japan-facing software development projects through all SDLC phases.
• Interpret Japanese specifications and create module-level design and technical documentation.
• Develop using Java and React following design specifications.
• Conduct unit and integration testing and document results.
• Coordinate with internal teams and Japanese clients to clarify requirements.
• Support project delivery with the Project Leader and team.
