Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a software developer to join its Japan-facing projects. You will work under System Engineers and Project Leaders to implement and test code based on detailed design and Japanese specifications, ensuring quality and timely bug fixes.

The role requires 3+ years in software development, with hands-on experience in Java, React, Oracle, MySQL, and Spring Boot. Ability to read Japanese specs and communicate with Mandarin-speaking teams is valuable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE or related field.
• 3+ years of software development, with Japan-facing projects.
• Hands-on with Java, React, Oracle, and MySQL.
• Familiarity with Spring Boot, REST API, and SQL queries.
• Know-how of Git and basic dev tools.
• Reading Japanese specs (JLPT N3) helps.
• Able to communicate with Mandarin-speaking teams.
• Willing to travel overseas for short-term projects.
• Experience with Smart Manufacturing & Industry 4.0 is a plus.

Responsibilities

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 3+ years of software development experience, with involvement in Japan-facing projects
• Hands-on experience with Java, React, Oracle, and MySQL
• Familiarity with Spring Boot, REST API development, and SQL queries
• Understanding of version control systems (Git) and basic development tools
• Ability to read and understand Japanese specification documents (JLPT N3 or equivalent reading comprehension) will be an added advantage
• Ability to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking customers and project teams
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to code quality
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Willingness to travel overseas for business assignments (short-term project support)
• Hands-on experience in Smart Manufacturing & Industry 4.0 systems
