Job summary

Shan Poornam Metals Sdn Bhd is seeking an IT Technician to diagnose and repair hardware and software issues across computers, printers, and network devices. You will maintain hardware, perform upgrades, document actions, and support staff with technical guidance at our HQ in Malaysia.

The role involves ensuring devices are ready for remarketing, maintaining spare parts inventory, and contributing to process improvements. This is a full-time on-site position based in Penang.

Qualifications

• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues on IT equipment.
• Repair or replace defective components using repair tools and processes.
• Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on IT hardware.
• Test repaired equipment for proper functionality.
• Document repairs, maintenance actions and inventory changes in the system.

Responsibilities

• Prepare devices for remarketing and ensure they are fully functional.
• Capture data information into settlement reports and offsite data wipe processes.
• Provide technical support and guidance to staff as needed.
• Maintain an inventory of spare parts and ensure availability for repairs.
• Aim to improve repair processes for efficiency and quality.

Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues for IT equipment (computers, laptops, printers, network devices, etc.)

Repair or replace defective components (such as motherboards, hard drives, RAM, etc.), using workstation (Blower / hot air equipment)

Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on IT hardware

Test repaired equipment for proper functionality

Document all repairs, maintenance actions, and inventory changes in the system

Prepare devices for remarketing by ensuring they are fully functional and ready for resale

Capture data information into settlement report, offsite data wipe and operate machines

Provide technical support and guidance to staff when necessary

Maintain an inventory of spare parts and ensure availability for repair needs

Work to improve repair processes for efficiency
