ADVANCED ENERGY INDUSTRIES (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is seeking an Equipment Technician to set up, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

The role involves supporting setup, installation, and qualification activities, while working with engineers on upgrades and process improvements. You will maintain records, perform preventive maintenance, assist in spare parts management, and help meet Output, Yield, and OEE targets.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or equivalent in mechanical/electrical fields.
• Basic English reading ability preferred.
• Familiarity with BOM, SAP, MES is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform timely fixes to minimize downtime.
• Support equipment setup, installation and qualification activities.
• Collaborate with engineers to implement process and equipment upgrades.
• Maintain maintenance records, logs and reports.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, jigs and fixtures.
• Assist with spare parts management and inventory control.

The Equipment Technician is responsible for the setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance, safety, and minimal downtime.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Troubleshooting equipment failures and carry out timely fixes to minimize downtime.
• Support equipment setup, installation and qualification activities.
• Work closely with engineers to implement process and equipment upgrades and improvement.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operation standards.
• Maintain maintenance records, logs and reports.
• Perform equipment, jig, and fixture preventive maintenance (PM).
• Assist engineers in spare parts management and inventory control.
• Support activities to meet Output, Yield and OEE target.
• Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.
• Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Works in a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering cleanroom environment.
• Completes many repetitive tasks that include the use of electronic equipment.
• At time work with operators to complete production workorder based on the OMS instruction.
• Be immediate guide to operators for any critical downtime.
• Works under direct supervision and get support from engineers to understand new tasks.
• Overtime may be necessary in times of increased demand.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to operate basic semiconductor equipment such as wire bonder, reflow oven, SMT, etc.
• Ability to exercise good judgment to resolve problems.
• Good communication ability and teamwork.
• Knowledge of BOM, SAP, MES, basic Microsoft skill, etc.
• Knowledge of Basic English ability, reading ability is preferred.
• Good computational and technical skills.
• Ability to work independently and ability to be creative.

EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Familiarity with automation systems and sensors.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Basic English knowledge.
• ESD knowledge.
• 5S knowledge.
• Have work experience in Semiconductor field.

EDUCATION:

• Technical school or Diploma level in mechanical/electrical or a related field, or equivalent education and/or experience.
