Verinon Technology Solutions Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager (AS400) for a contract position in Kuala Lumpur. The role focuses on managing IT projects and AS400 systems, with emphasis on Core Insurance platforms, POS, portals, and data infrastructure.

You will lead cross-functional teams, drive end-to-end project delivery, and ensure risk controls meet regulatory standards. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of IT project management with at least 3 full lifecycle

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT project management experience with at least 3 full lifecycle implementations.
• Experience with AS400/Core Insurance systems, POS, portals, and Data Lake.
• Familiarity with Malaysia's RMiT guidelines and risk controls in technology projects.
• End-to-end RFP/RFQ processes, vendor evaluation and selection experience.
• Ability to develop business cases including cost-benefit analysis and strategic alignment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage IT projects focusing on AS400 systems and infrastructure.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams (5+ members) to deliver complex initiatives.
• Ensure quality, compliance, and risk controls throughout project lifecycle.

About the role Verinon Technology Solutions Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager (AS400) to join our dynamic team in Kuala Lumpur. This is a contract position that offers the opportunity to lead and manage critical IT projects with a specific focus on AS400 systems and infrastructure. As an IT Project Manager specialising in AS400 technologies, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This role is integral to our technology delivery capabilities and will directly impact the success of our enterprise solutions.

At least 5 years of experience in managing IT projects and system implementation / enhancement, with at least 3 full lifecycle of system implementation.

Technical project management skills, preferably with experience in managing transformation projects related to Core Insurance system (AS400), insurance products launch, Insurance Point-of-Sales systems (POS), Agent/Customer/Claim Portal, Corporate Websites and Data Lake.

Priority will be given to candidates with experience or domain expertise in GI/Life insurance products, Digital, big data, analytics, AI, infra and cloud.

Experience in managing at least 5 full-time team members, excluding the implementation vendor.

Familiarity with Malaysia Risk Management in Technology (RMiT) guidelines, ensuring compliance and effective risk controls in technology initiatives.

Experience in driving and managing RFP/RFQ end to end process will be added advantage. E.g. to work closely with cross-functional team to prepare RFP/RFQ pack, evaluating vendor proposals and overseeing the selection process.

Proven ability to develop comprehensive business cases, including cost-benefit analysis, risk assessment, and strategic alignment with organizational objectives will be an added advantage
