Job summary

The Global Environment Centre is seeking an IT Officer to manage day-to-day IT operations across its HQ and regional offices in Malaysia. The role includes hardware and software support, server administration, network management, and handling IT assets and documentation.

The successful candidate will maintain email systems, backups, and basic security practices while coordinating with external providers for specialist needs. On-site support across offices is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of IT support, systems and network administration experience.
• Experience maintaining desktops and laptops, user administration, basic networking and server/backup exposure.
• Knowledge of server backup, user management, licenses, and IT security.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and provide timely IT support across multiple offices.

Responsibilities

• Provide reliable IT support across GEC HQ and field offices.
• Maintain, administer and troubleshoot computer hardware, servers, networks and email systems.
• Manage IT assets, user access, backups and related documentation.
• Coordinate with external IT service providers for specialised needs.
• Support server administration, backups, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Ensure security measures and proper access controls across systems.
• Produce documentation on IT systems, equipment, licenses and service providers.
