Job summary
Ultimate Machining Solutions (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced IT leader to oversee all IT operations in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You will manage the IT infrastructure, ensure system availability, and drive ERP initiatives with Epicor to support production, planning and finance functions.
Ideal candidates have 8–10 years in IT with at least 3 years in a supervisory role, and prefer those with semiconductor/manufacturing experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, IS, or related field.
- 8–10 years of IT experience with ≥3 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience in semiconductor/manufacturing preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, servers, cybersecurity, backup & DR.
- Good working knowledge of ERP systems in manufacturing.
- Experience with Epicor ERP is a strong advantage.
- Experience supporting ERP functions like production, planning & finance.
- IT project implementation and digitalisation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage IT operations and teams.
- Maintain IT infrastructure: servers, networks, firewalls, Wi‑Fi, storage & end-user devices.
- Ensure high availability and minimise downtime for manufacturing operations.
- Manage Epicor ERP: troubleshooting, upgrades, user support.
- Collaborate with Production, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, HR.
- Support MES and other manufacturing systems where applicable.
- Identify opportunities to automate business processes via ERP solutions.
- Oversee cybersecurity controls and data protection.
- Lead IT upgrades, implementations, and digitalisation projects.
- Manage IT vendors, licences, and maintenance contracts.
- Prepare IT operating and capex budgets; support audits and compliance.

Lead and manage the overall IT operations.
Manage and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, networks, firewalls, Wi-Fi, storage, backup systems and end-user devices.
Ensure high availability of IT systems and minimise system downtime that may affect manufacturing operations.
Manage, support and maintain Epicor ERP, including troubleshooting, system enhancements, upgrades and user support.
Work closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Finance, HR and other departments to understand business requirements and improve the effective use of Epicor ERP.
Support MES and other manufacturing/business systems, where applicable.
Identify opportunities to improve and automate business and manufacturing processes through ERP and other IT solutions.
Manage cybersecurity controls including user access, endpoint protection, firewalls, system patching, vulnerability management and security monitoring.
Ensure proper data backup, disaster recovery and IT business continuity arrangements are maintained and regularly tested.
Lead IT infrastructure upgrades, system implementations, automation and digitalisation projects.
Manage IT vendors, service providers, software licences and maintenance contracts.
Prepare and manage the site's IT operating and capital expenditure budgets.
Support internal, external and customer audits relating to IT systems, cybersecurity and information security.
Ensure compliance with Company/Group IT policies and applicable data protection requirements.
Lead, supervise and develop the local IT team.
Work closely with Group IT Manager from Singapore Head Office on Group-wide IT standards, cybersecurity initiatives and IT projects.
Provide timely escalation and support for critical system failures or cybersecurity incidents.
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
Preferably 8–10 years of relevant IT experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
Experience in a semiconductor, precision engineering or manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience in IT infrastructure, networking, servers, cybersecurity, backup and disaster recovery.
Good working knowledge of ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with Epicor ERP will be a strong advantage.
Experience supporting ERP functions such as production, planning, inventory, purchasing, supply chain and finance would be advantageous.
Experience in IT project implementation, system upgrades, process automation and digitalisation initiatives.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Good leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
Able to manage vendors and coordinate effectively with Group IT teams.
Independent, hands‑on and able to work effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Must be prepared to provide support outside normal working hours when required for critical IT or production system issues.
