We’re looking to add a Manager, Industrial Engineering. The position is based in our site at Senai, Johor.
As a Manager, Industrial Engineering, you will: Responsible for improving manufacturing productivity, efficiency, capacity utilization, and operational performance through industrial engineering methodologies, work measurement studies, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Process Optimization
- Work with Manufacturing and Test Engineering teams to establish efficient production processes and workflows.
- Conduct cycle time analysis, TAKT time analysis, and capacity studies to optimize resource utilization and production output.
- Perform line balancing activities to improve productivity and eliminate bottlenecks.
- Design and optimize production line layouts to enhance operational efficiency, material flow, and ergonomics.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to manufacturing processes, equipment utilization, and labor productivity.
- Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard work and labor standards.
- Analyze production data and identify opportunities for cost reduction, waste elimination, and productivity improvement.
- Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Industrial Engineering principles.
- Monitor manufacturing performance and recommend corrective actions to achieve operational targets.
- Participate in value stream mapping and process improvement projects.
New Product Introduction (NPI) Support
- Support new product introduction and production transfer activities.
- Validate manufacturing processes, cycle times, labor requirements, and production capacity during project implementation.
- Identify tooling, fixture, equipment, and resource requirements to support production readiness.
- Provide engineering support during product realization, pilot builds, and qualification activities.
- Establish and maintain manufacturing data, routings, work instructions, and system documentation for new products.
Data Analysis & System Management
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of manufacturing data within ERP/MES systems.
- Develop reports and analyses related to productivity, labor efficiency, capacity utilization, and operational performance.
- Track actual performance against established standards and identify improvement opportunities.
- Ensure all engineering documentation is updated and maintained according to company requirements.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned as business needs arise.
Education and experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Operations Excellence within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in EMS, electronics manufacturing, or high-mix low-volume production environments is an advantage.
- Good knowledge and proficiency in SAP ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Highly motivated and energetic individual with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Experience in manufacturing data analysis and reporting.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of TAKT time analysis, cycle time analysis, and capacity planning.
