Job summary

MINAMI ELECTRONICS MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. (1306560-A) seeks an IT Infrastructure Specialist in Penang to monitor, maintain, and support manufacturing IT systems, including servers, virtualization, and plant-floor equipment.

You will ensure reliable operations and coordinate with vendors for deployments. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, security, asset management, backups, and participating in upgrades and projects, with strong documentation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on IT infrastructure, system administration or network support experience.
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and basic Linux.
• Hands-on with VMware ESXi/vCenter, H3C networking, FortiGate firewall, and Veeam Backup.
• Familiarity with Dell/HPE servers, Lenovo SAN, Synology NAS, and infrastructure monitoring.
• Understanding of cybersecurity, backup/recovery, IT asset management, and lifecycle support.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in production environments.
• IT infrastructure certifications are a plus.
• Proficient in English; Bahasa Malaysia is desirable; Mandarin is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and support IT infrastructure to ensure reliable business and production operations.
• Support servers, virtualization, network, end‑user devices, and plant‑floor IT equipment.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and user issues, providing timely technical support and escalation.
• Maintain IT security, access controls, updates, and compliance with policies and standards.
• Manage user accounts, IT assets, licenses, and lifecycle records.
• Support backup, recovery, system availability, and business continuity activities.
• Participate in upgrades, deployments, maintenance, and improvement projects.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for infrastructure support and implementation.
• Maintain accurate IT documentation, configurations, procedures, inventory, and guidelines.
• Support infrastructure changes and incidents with minimal business impact.
