Job summary

MINAMI ELECTRONICS MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. (1306560-A) seeks an IT Infrastructure Specialist in Penang to monitor, maintain, and support manufacturing IT systems, including servers, virtualization, and plant-floor equipment.

You will ensure reliable operations and coordinate with vendors for deployments. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, security, asset management, backups, and participating in upgrades and projects, with strong documentation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on IT infrastructure, system administration or network support experience.
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and basic Linux.
• Hands-on with VMware ESXi/vCenter, H3C networking, FortiGate firewall, and Veeam Backup.
• Familiarity with Dell/HPE servers, Lenovo SAN, Synology NAS, and infrastructure monitoring.
• Understanding of cybersecurity, backup/recovery, IT asset management, and lifecycle support.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in production environments.
• IT infrastructure certifications are a plus.
• Proficient in English; Bahasa Malaysia is desirable; Mandarin is a plus.

Support servers, virtualization, network infrastructure, end-user devices, plant-floor IT equipment, and related IT systems.

Troubleshoot infrastructure and user issues, providing timely technical support and escalation where required.

Maintain IT security, access controls, system updates, and compliance with established IT policies and standards.

Manage user accounts, IT assets, hardware, software, licenses, and related lifecycle records.

Support backup, recovery, system availability, and business continuity activities.

Participate in infrastructure upgrades, technology deployments, maintenance activities, and improvement projects.

Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and internal teams for infrastructure support and implementation.

Maintain accurate IT documentation, configurations, procedures, inventory records, and operational guidelines.

Support infrastructure changes and incidents with minimal impact to business and production operations.

Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 1-2 years of hands‑on experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, or network support. Manufacturing or production IT experience will be an added advantage.

Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and basic Linux administration.

Hands‑on experience with VMware ESXi/vCenter, H3C networking, FortiGate firewall, and Veeam Backup.

Knowledge of Dell/HPE servers, Lenovo SAN, Synology NAS, and infrastructure monitoring.

Basic understanding of cybersecurity, backup/recovery, IT asset management, and lifecycle support.
