Job summary

Maruwa (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to manage and maintain our server infrastructure in Melaka. The role focuses on ensuring reliable operation of physical and virtual servers, performing OS patching, backups, monitoring, and security hardening.

You will support manufacturing systems, perform incident resolution, preventive maintenance, and work on infrastructure improvement projects, vendor coordination, and comprehensive documentation of architecture and SOPs.

Qualifications

• Server Administration: manage physical and virtual server infrastructure.
• OS Administration: maintain Windows/Linux servers and perform patching.
• SQL Administration: maintain SQL Server, databases, backups and performance.
• Backup & DR: ensure reliable backup, restore and disaster recovery.
• Monitoring: monitor servers, services, SQL and infrastructure using PRTG or equivalent tools.
• Security: maintain server security, patching, access control and hardening.
• Storage: monitor and maintain server/SAN/NAS storage.
• Manufacturing Systems: support servers hosting production, MES, SCADA, IoT and monitoring applications.
• Troubleshooting: resolve server incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Preventive Maintenance: perform scheduled server health checks and maintenance.
• Documentation: maintain server architecture, SOPs, inventory and technical documentation.
• Projects: support server upgrades, migration, implementation and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Vendor Management: coordinate with hardware, software and system-integrator vendors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day server operations and incident response.
• Apply OS patches, manage backups, and ensure data integrity.
• Administer SQL Server, databases, backups and performance tuning.
• Plan and test disaster recovery procedures and backups.
• Monitor infrastructure and applications for reliability and health.
• Implement security hardening, access controls and patch management.
• Maintain storage systems including SAN/NAS and backups.
• Support MES/SCADA/IoT applications hosted on servers.
• Investigate outages and perform root-cause analysis.
• Schedule preventive maintenance and health checks.
• Document architecture, SOPs and inventories for auditability.
• Contribute to infrastructure upgrade projects and vendor coordination.
