Job summary

MIMA is seeking an IT Executive to oversee operation, maintenance, and security of the organisation’s ICT infrastructure in Malaysia. You will provide timely technical support and ensure reliability and availability of IT systems.

The role covers asset management, server and network administration, security measures, and incident resolution, reporting to the Manager Human Resources & Administration. A Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/IS and 2+ years’ experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS/IS or related field.
• Minimum two (2) years of IT technical support, infrastructure management or network administration experience.
• Solid knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, software installation and network cabling.
• Experience with servers, databases, email systems and IT security.

Responsibilities

• Manage ICT assets (computers, laptops, printers, software) and maintain inventory records.
• Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot hardware, software and peripherals.
• Administer servers, databases, corporate email and IT applications for availability.
• Maintain LAN/WAN networks and cabling.
• Diagnose and resolve IT issues within timelines.
• Implement ICT security measures, backups and recovery procedures.
• Handle IT support requests per SOPs and maintain records.

Position Title: IT Executive

Department: Human Resources & Administration

Reports To: Manager Human Resources & Administration

Salary Range: RM3,500.00 – RM4,000.00

Position Objective

To ensure the efficient operation, maintenance and security of the organisation’s ICT infrastructure, including computer hardware and software, network systems, servers and other IT equipment, while providing timely technical support to users and ensuring the reliability and availability of IT systems.

1. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Manage ICT assets, including computers, laptops, printers, software and other IT equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and inventory records.
2. Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot computer hardware, software and peripheral devices.
3. Administer servers, databases, corporate email systems and other IT applications to ensure system availability and reliability.
4. Maintain network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN connectivity, network devices and structured network cabling.
5. Diagnose and resolve technical issues involving IT equipment, systems and network connectivity within established timelines.
6. Implement ICT security measures, system backup and recovery procedures, and appropriate access controls to safeguard organisational data and systems.
7. Manage IT support requests in accordance with established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain records of technical support activities.
8. Evaluate IT requirements and recommend suitable technologies or infrastructure improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

2. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

1. Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field. Relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.
2. Have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant working experience in IT technical support, infrastructure management or network administration.
3. Possess practical knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, software installation, network configuration and structured network cabling.
4. Have knowledge of server administration, database management, email systems, IT security and data recovery.
5. Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage technical tasks independently and prioritise work effectively.
6. Possess good communication skills, integrity and a strong sense of responsibility when handling user support and confidential information.
