Job summary

Stonyhurst International School Penang is seeking a qualified System Engineer to manage daily IT operations, reporting to the IT Manager. The role includes first-level support for hardware, software, and network issues, plus setup and maintenance of desktops, printers, and classroom tech.

You will assist with user accounts and access controls, ensuring proper escalation per IT policy and regular system updates. The school emphasizes safeguarding and strong governance in IT.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Basic understanding of Windows and/or Mac operating systems.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Stonyhurst International School, Penang is looking to appoint a qualified and experienced System Engineer who is able to manage the day-to-day IT work related functions reporting to the IT Manager.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, smart boards and other IT equipment.
• Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Ensuring that problems are escalated in accordance with IT policies and procedures.
• Perform routine system updates, patches, and backups.
• Escalate complex technical issues to the Senior IT Engineer or IT Manager as required.
• Undertake any other ad-hoc tasks or assignments assigned by the Superior within the scope of the ICT profession.
