Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an IT support specialist to provide first- and second-level support for business-critical applications within an air-gapped environment. You will triage outages, monitor health with on-prem tools, and perform basic operational tasks while adhering to strict security and change-control procedures.

The role requires practical knowledge of Linux, container platforms (OpenShift/Kubernetes), private/hybrid clouds, SQL basics, and strong documentation and communication skills

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Linux/RHEL operating environments.
• Exposure to container/Kubernetes platforms (e.g., OpenShift).
• Familiarity with Huawei Cloud Stack (HCS) or similar private/hybrid clouds.
• Basic SQL skills for querying and troubleshooting data issues.
• Understanding of how applications interact (frontend/backend/API).
• Knowledge of ITIL incident/problem/change management processes.
• Willingness to adhere to strict access controls and undergo security vetting.
• Strong documentation habits and need for manual logging over automated trails.
• Good communication to explain technical issues to varied audiences.
• High attention to detail and following runbooks precisely.

Responsibilities

• Provide first- and second-level support for business-critical applications in an air-gapped network.
• Identify and triage issues (outages, performance, login problems) and route to the right team.
• Monitor health using on-prem monitoring tools and escalate anomalies.
• Perform basic operational tasks (restarts, log checks, resource checks).
• Support secure transfer of code releases and logs across air gaps per runbooks and chain-of-custody rules.
• Assist with deployments and upgrades in restricted-network environments.
• Support root-cause investigations by collecting logs and documenting findings for developers.
• Maintain and update support runbooks and knowledge base articles.
• Assist with user access management and environment configuration.
• Participate in change management with thorough testing and documentation.
• Maintain detailed logs of changes, transfers, and incidents for audit/compliance.
• Follow physical and information security controls (no unauthorized devices, access logging).

Job Description (JD)

• Provide first- and second-level support for business-critical applications within an air-gapped network
• Identify and triage application issues (service outages, slow performance, error messages, login/access problems) and route to the appropriate team for resolution
• Monitor application and platform health using on-premises/local monitoring tools; elevate anomalies per incident procedures
• Perform basic operational tasks (service restarts, log checks, resource checks) as part of first-line support
• Support secure, approved methods for transferring code releases, patches, and logs across the air gap (e.g., approved removable media, data diodes, transfer stations), following chain-of-custody procedures
• Assist with executing deployments and version upgrades in an offline or restricted-network setting, following documented runbooks
• Support basic root cause investigation by gathering logs, reproducing issues, and documenting findings for developers/platform teams
• Maintain and update support documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles specific to the application and platform stack
• Support user access management, environment configuration, and minor data fixes as required
• Participate in change management processes, ensuring changes are properly tested and documented before release
• Maintain detailed logs of all changes, transfers, and incidents to support audit and compliance requirements (e.g., SSDLC, change control, key control testing)
• Follow physical and information security controls (e.g., controlled media handling, no unauthorized devices, access logging)
