Job summary

Arnet Sdn Bhd is seeking a QS internship candidate in Kuala Lumpur to support cost estimation, tendering, and contract administration for building projects in Malaysia.

You will assist in cost planning, budgeting, and project cost control, liaising with suppliers and project teams. Fresh graduates are welcome, and Mandarin is an added advantage. This internship offers potential conversion to a full-time role based on performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Diploma in QS/Construction management is required or pursuing.
• Fresh graduates are welcome; internship with potential for full-time conversion.
• Mandarin speaker is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities and tender documentation.
• Assist in cost planning and budget preparation for projects.
• Assist in the tender process, including preparing tender documents and evaluating submissions.
• Source and liaise with suppliers or subcontractors for quotations and pricing.
• Administer contracts and assist in drafting variations and change orders.
• Monitor project expenditure against budget and prepare interim valuations.
• Prepare variation orders, claims and supporting documentation; negotiate with contractors and clients.

Job description

• Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities (BQ), and tender documentation.
• Assist in cost planning and budget preparation for projects.
• Assist in the tender process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating submissions,
• and preparing recommendation reports.
• Source and liaise with suppliers/subcontractors for quotations and pricing.

3. Contract Administration

• Administer contracts, ensuring adherence to agreed terms and conditions.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing contract variations, change orders, and related documentation.

4. Project Cost Control

• Monitor and track project expenditure against budget.
• Prepare progress payment claims, interim valuations, and final accounts.

5. Claims & Variations

• Prepare and submit variation orders, claims, and supporting documentation.
• Assist in negotiations with contractors, suppliers, and clients.

6. Coordination & Communication

• Liaise with project managers, site teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth cost and
• contract management.
• Attend site and project meetings when required.

7. Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all QS documentation is accurate, updated, and filed according to company procedures.
• Comply with statutory requirements, company policies, and project-specific standards.
