Job summary

WCT Berhad is seeking a Quantity Surveying professional to support cost management across construction projects in Petaling Jaya. The role involves take-off quantities, preparing bills of quantities and assisting with cost estimates, budgets and tender evaluation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in taking-off quantities and preparing Bills of Quantities (BQ).
• Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets and cost comparisons.
• Support tender documents and quotation evaluation.
• Assist in obtaining quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Assist in verifying contractors' claims and variations.
• Monitor project costs against the approved budget.
• Prepare cost reports and other QS-related documents.
• Maintain records of contracts, quotations, claims, and variation orders.
• Assist in measurement and valuation of work at site.
• Coordinate with Project, Engineering, Procurement and Finance teams.
• Attend site meetings and inspections as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

To support the Quantity Surveying team in cost management, quantity measurement, tender preparation, contract administration and other commercial activities related to construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in taking-off quantities and preparing Bills of Quantities (BQ).
• Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets and cost comparisons for projects.
• Support the preparation and evaluation of tender documents and quotations.
• Assist in obtaining quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Assist in checking and verifying contractors' claims, progress payments and variation orders.
• Assist in monitoring project costs against the approved budget.
• Assist in preparing cost reports and other QS-related reports.
• Maintain proper records of contracts, quotations, claims, variation orders and other project documentation.
• Assist in measurement and valuation of work completed at site.
• Coordinate with Project, Engineering, Procurement and Finance teams on commercial matters.
• Attend site meetings and inspections where required.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the superior from time to time.

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or QS-related software would be an advantage.
• Good analytical, numerical and communication skills.
• Willing to learn and work in a construction/project environment.
• Willing to travel to project sites when required.
