Job summary

Genting Malaysia Bhd invites applications for a Logistics Internship based at Wisma Genting, KL. The role supports the Logistics team by reviewing shipping documents, arranging marine insurance, and coordinating cargo movement from origin to RWG.

A relevant degree and a minimum 3-month internship are required, with fluency in Bahasa Melayu, English, and Chinese. Interns will gain hands-on exposure to document management, cost tracking, and liaison with shippers and freight forwarders.

Qualifications

• Degree in Purchasing Management/Procurement/Logistics/Business Administration or related field.
• Internship period must be 3 months and above.
• Proficiency in spoken and written Bahasa Melayu, English, and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify all shipping documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in arranging marine insurance for imported goods and ensure policies are issued on time.
• Communicate with shipper and freight forwarder regarding cargo collection, shipments and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate shipment activities from origin to RWG ensuring smooth processes.
• Follow up with business users on creation and approval of Purchase Requisitions for forwarding and logistics charges.
• Verify freight invoices from forwarding agents and shipping lines for billing accuracy.
• Maintain and update shipment details, freight costs, and related information in shipment log.
• Obtain and compare quotations from freight forwarders and prepare cost reports for evaluation and decision-making.
• Organize, file and retain shipping documents such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, insurance certificates, and customs docs.
• Provide administrative and operational support to the Logistics team as required.

Job description

Review and verify all shipping documents to make sure the information is correct and complete. To correct and resove with shipper before shipment processing.

Assist in arranging marine insurance for imported goods and ensure the insurance policies are issued accurately and on time.

Communicate and follow up with shipperand freight forwarding agent regarding cargo collection, shipment arrangements, and delivery schedules.

Coordinate shipment activities from origin country to RWG, ensuring shipping process are carried out smoothly

Follow up with business users on the creation and approval of Purchase Requisitions (PR) for forwarding and logistics charges.

To verify freight invoices and charges received from forwarding agent and shipping lines to ensure billing accuracy.

Maintain and update shipment details, freight costs, and related information in shipment log promptly and accurately.

Obtain and compare quotations from freight forwarding agents and prepare cost comparison reports for evaluation and decision-making.

Organize, maintain, and file shipping documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, insurance certificates, and customs-related documents for record-keeping and audit purposes.

Provide administrative and operational support to the Logistics team as required.

Job Requirements:

Candidates must possess a Degree in Purchasing Management/ Procurement Management/ Supply Chain Management/ Logistics/ Transportation/ Business Administration, or a related field.

Internship period must be 3 months and above.

Proficiency in spoken and written Bahasa Melayu, English, and Chinese is required.
