Job summary

SOSHIP MARINE SDN BHD is seeking an International Freight Coordinator to support daily freight forwarding operations, including shipment coordination, documentation, and customer service. The role suits those with logistics experience who enjoy end-to-end shipment processes in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate documentation, timely cargo movement, and excellent customer service delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Minimum 1 year in freight forwarding, logistics, shipping, or related industry (fresh graduates welcome).
• Experience in sea/air freight, shipping documents or customer service is a plus.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Mandarin skills are an added advantage for Mandarin-speaking customers/partners.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Handle customers' shipment enquiries, booking requests and service requirements promptly and professionally.
• Coordinate shipment bookings with shipping lines, co-loaders, overseas agents and internal departments.
• Monitor and follow up on shipment progress to ensure smooth execution and timely cargo movement.
• Provide customers with accurate shipment status updates and respond to enquiries promptly.
• Coordinate with Business Solutions, Business Development, and Customs Brokerage teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Prepare, verify and process shipping documents (Bills of Lading, manifests, invoices).
• Ensure documents are accurate and submitted within required timelines.
• Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally, aiming for effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and ensure shipments are closed, including invoicing.
• Perform other duties related to freight forwarding and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle customers' shipment enquiries, booking requests and service requirements promptly and professionally

• Maintain accurate shipment records and ensure all shipments are properly completed and closed, including invoicing

• Perform other duties related to freight forwarding and customer service operations as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree, Diploma or equivalent qualification

• Minimum 1 year of working experience in freight forwarding, logistics, shipping, supply chain or a related industry (Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply)

• Candidates with experience in sea freight, air freight, shipping documentation or customer service within the freight forwarding industry will have an added advantage

• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia

• Ability to communicate in Mandarin is an added advantage as the role involves interaction with Mandarin-speaking customers and business partners

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage documentation accurately

• Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills

• Able to handle multiple shipments, deadlines and priorities simultaneously

• Positive working attitude with a strong sense of responsibility and urgency

• Able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team

• Willing to work on Penang Island
