Job summary

Watsons Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to lead audits, oversee planning, fieldwork, and reporting, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely actions.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in internal audit, a degree in accounting/finance, and professional qualifications such as CIA/ACCA are an advantage; strong data analytics, communication, and independence are essential.

Qualifications

• Min 5 years of internal audit experience with at least 2 years leading team/project.
• Exposure to retail/warehouse operations is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal, presentation and report-writing skills.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, scheduled audits, risk assessment, process advisory and ad hoc assignments.
• Lead audit team in planning, fieldwork, coaching, report drafting and findings presentation.
• Liaise with stakeholders to obtain data for planning and fieldwork; coordinate cross-department meetings.
• Monitor and follow up on implementation status of agreed action plans.
• Oversee inventory control activities including stocktake, cycle counts, reconciliation, and asset verification.
• Review compliance with statutory requirements and Group policies.
• Undertake other tasks as instructed by superiors.

Job description

• Perform routine & scheduled audits, risk assessment, process advisory & ad hoc assignments.
• Lead audit team in performing audits including audit planning, fieldwork execution, coaching subordinates, report drafting as well as finding presentation.
• Liaise with the respective stakeholders to obtain data/information for planning and fieldwork as well as coordinating cross-departmental meetings for alignment if necessary.
• To monitor and perform follow up review on the implementation status of agreed action plans.
• Oversee and support inventory control activities, including stocktake, cycle count, inventory reconciliation, and asset verification processes.
• To review compliance to statutory requirements, Group policies and guidelines.
• Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as instructed by the Superiors

Candidate Requirements:

• Min 5 years of working experience in internal audit, comprising at least 2 year solid experiences of leading team/ project.
• Degree in Accounting/ Business/ Finance. Professional qualification or equivalent (i.e. CIA/ ACCA) will be an added advantage.
• Exposure to auditing in retail industry/ Warehouse Operations will be an added advantage.
• Possess good interpersonal, presentation and report writing skills.
• Strong critical thinking and data analytical skill.
• Independent and experienced in dealing with various Stakeholders.
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
