Job summary

HOMA ENGINEERING (M) SDN BHD is offering an internship for an enthusiastic Intern Site Supervisor to join our construction team in Penang Island. This full-time role welcomes graduates or school leavers to gain hands-on experience supervising construction activities under guidance from senior staff.

You will learn to oversee daily activities, ensure safety compliance, coordinate materials and labor, and assist in reporting.

• Conduct routine site inspections and document findings in daily reports.
• Assist in induction and training of new site workers on safety procedures and project requirements.
• Liaise with team members, contractors and other departments to ensure effective communication on site.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of health, safety and environmental standards.
• Assist with quality control checks and ensure work meets required specifications.
• Help maintain site records, including time sheets, progress documentation and safety logs.
• Support senior supervisors in problem-solving and decision-making on site matters.

About the role

HOMA ENGINEERING (M) SDN BHD is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Intern Site Supervisor to join our construction team on a full-time basis in Penang Island, Penang. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or recent school leaver to gain practical experience in site supervision within the construction industry. You will work alongside experienced supervisors and site management teams, learning the essential skills required to oversee construction activities, manage teams, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards. This role offers invaluable hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced construction environment and is the ideal stepping stone for those aspiring to progress into full supervisory positions.

Key responsibilities

Assist in supervising daily construction activities and ensure work progresses according to schedules and project plans

Monitor and report on site conditions, including safety compliance and adherence to company policies

Support the coordination of materials, equipment and labor resources on site

Conduct routine site inspections and document findings in daily reports

Assist in induction and training of new site workers on safety procedures and project requirements

Liaise with team members, contractors and other departments to ensure effective communication on site

Support the implementation and maintenance of health, safety and environmental standards

Able communicate with Mandarin, Malay and English.

What we're looking for

Recent graduate or school leaver with a keen interest in the construction industry

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams

Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail

Physical fitness and willingness to work in an outdoor construction environment

Basic understanding of construction practices and site safety principles (training will be provided)

Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision whilst also taking initiative

Reliability, punctuality and a positive attitude towards learning

Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential; additional languages are advantageous

Valid driving licence is preferred

Willingness to obtain relevant certifications such as CIDB registration or basic safety courses
