• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in interior design.
• Proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, Adobe Creative Suite and 3D visualisation tools.
• Strong understanding of interior design principles, colour theory, spatial planning and building codes.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Portfolio demonstrating previous interior design projects.

Goya Design Studio Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a talented Interior Designer to join our creative team on a full-time basis in Penang. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and conceptualisation of interior spaces that enhance both functionality and aesthetics. As an Interior Designer, you will play a crucial role in transforming client visions into beautifully crafted interior environments, collaborating with architects, contractors and clients to deliver exceptional design solutions that meet both practical and creative objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop creative interior design concepts and solutions for residential, commercial and hospitality projects
• Prepare detailed design drawings, mood boards, 3D visualisations and colour schemes for client presentations
• Conduct site surveys and space planning to optimise functionality and flow within interior environments
• Source, specify and procure appropriate materials, furnishings, fixtures and finishes that align with design concepts and budget constraints
• Liaise with clients to understand their requirements, preferences and budgets, ensuring design solutions meet their expectations
• Collaborate with architects, contractors and other professionals to ensure seamless project execution and design integrity
• Manage project timelines and budgets whilst maintaining quality standards throughout the design and implementation process
• Create technical drawings and specifications for builders and contractors to facilitate accurate project delivery
• Conduct site inspections during construction and installation phases to oversee design implementation
• Stay current with interior design trends, materials and technologies to bring innovative ideas to projects

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline
• Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in interior design practice
• Proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3dmax, Adobe Creative Suite and 3D visualisation tools
• Strong understanding of interior design principles, colour theory, spatial planning and building codes
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality
• Creative thinking and problem-solving capabilities with a keen eye for aesthetics and functionality
• Experience with client management and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Knowledge of sustainable design practices and materials is advantageous
• Portfolio demonstrating previous interior design projects and design expertise
