About the role
We are seeking a talented and creative Interior Designer to join our team on a full-time basis in Ipoh, Perak. In this role, you will play a crucial part in conceptualising, designing, and implementing interior spaces for our hospitality properties. You will work collaboratively with management, contractors, and suppliers to transform our vision into reality, ensuring that every space delivers aesthetic appeal, functionality, and an outstanding guest experience. This position offers an excellent opportunity to showcase your design expertise whilst contributing to the development of our expanding property portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Develop innovative interior design concepts and visualisations for residential, commercial, and hospitality spaces
- Create detailed design drawings, floor plans, mood boards, and 3D renderings using professional design software
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure design specifications are accurately implemented on site
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess spaces, identify design opportunities, and monitor project progress
- Select and source materials, furnishings, fixtures, and finishes that align with design concepts and budget requirements
- Present design proposals to clients and stakeholders, incorporating feedback and making revisions as necessary
- Ensure all designs comply with health, safety, and building regulations relevant to the hospitality industry
- Manage project budgets and timelines, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality
- Stay updated on current design trends, materials, and technologies within the interior design and hospitality sectors
- Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to facilitate procurement and installation processes
What we're looking for
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline from a recognised institution
- Minimum 2-3 years of professional interior design experience, preferably within the hospitality or property development sector
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent programmes
- Strong knowledge of spatial planning, colour theory, materials, and contemporary design principles
- Excellent understanding of building codes, health and safety regulations, and accessibility standards
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate design concepts clearly
- Attention to detail and excellent project management capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Knowledge of hospitality design standards and guest experience requirements would be advantageous
- Portfolio or case studies showcasing previous interior design projects
