Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of instrumentation experience in refinery/heavy industry.
• Experience in multinational environments is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance strategies and reliability methods.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine asset maintenance plans to improve plant uptime.
• Lead design, commissioning, FAT/SAT activities and testing.
• Oversee BOQ estimations, tendering, scheduling and cost control.
• Identify and implement KAIZEN opportunities to reduce operating costs.
• Collaborate with overseas teams and provide technical training at the academy.

Job Title: Senior Instrument Engineer (Refinery / Heavy Industry)

Industry: Engineering / Oil & Gas / Refinery / Industrial Maintenance

Location: Nusajaya, Johor Bahru

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Instrument Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will lead instrumentation reliability, oversee project commissioning and testing, optimize maintenance strategies, and deliver technical training across our group networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Reliability & Maintenance: Develop, refine, and monitor asset maintenance plans. Apply predictive testing and root cause failure analysis (RCA / RCFA / FRACAS) to resolve repetitive failures and optimize plant availability.
• Project Execution & Testing: Participate in design specifications, commissioning plans, and witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
• Commercial & Cost Management: Oversee project BOQ estimations, tender bidding/negotiation, scheduling, cost control, and quality assurance.
• Continuous Improvement (KAIZEN): Identify operational improvements to increase plant uptime, enhance safety, and reduce operating costs.
• Global Collaboration & Technical Training: Work closely with overseas subsidiaries, maintenance centers, and act as a technical trainer at our specialized technical academy.

Key Requirements

• Education: Degree in Control & Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent professional qualification.
• Experience: 5 to 10+ years of relevant experience in instrumentation within refineries or equivalent heavy industrial environments.
• Background: Proven track record working within a multinational company (MNC) environment.
• Technical & Management: Knowledge of project BOQ estimation, FAT/SAT execution, asset reliability modeling, and risk management.
• Communication: Excellent command of English (spoken & written) with public speaking and training capabilities. (Multilingual ability is an added advantage).
