Job summary

Toyo Engineering & Construction Sdn. Bhd. (Toyo-Malaysia) is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to deliver design work for control systems in the oil & gas and petrochemical sectors.

You will prepare datasheets, I/O lists, and sizing for flow elements and valves, while applying SIL methodology and relevant IEC/ISA standards. The role involves creating DCS, Safety System, PLC/SCADA deliverables, loop drawings, interlock diagrams, and system architecture, with potential site surveys

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical-Electronics, or Chemical Engineering.
• 5–8 years total experience with at least 3 years in control system and Field Instrument design for O&G and petrochemicals.
• Familiar with IEC, ISA standards and SIL study/verification.
• Proficient in SPI software and project documentation.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; able to work independently and in teams.
• Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).

Responsibilities

• Prepare instrument datasheets, instrument lists and I/O lists.
• Prepare instrument sizing for flow elements and valves.
• Prepare control system design deliverables for DCS, Safety System, PLC/SCADA and relay base systems.
• Prepare loop drawings and interlock logic diagrams.
• Able to carry out site surveys and support Field Engineer activities if required.

Job description

Responsible for delivering instrument & Control design work efficiently and in a timely manner during proposal and project delivery stage.

Preparation of instrument datasheet, instrument list and I/O list.

Preparation of instrument sizing for flow element and valves.

Familiar with SIL methodology and implementation.

Preparation of control system design deliverables for DCS, Safety System, mechanical package control system PLC ,SCADA and relay base system.

Preparation of loop drawings and interlock logic diagram.

Preparation of System Architecture, System block diagram, control narrative, etc. for control system.

Able to carry out site survey to gain required information and/or verification of existing plant documentation.

Able to support site activities as Field Engineer – If required

Job Requirements:

Candidates must possess at least a Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical-Electronics or Chemical Engineering background.

5-8 years’ experience with at least 3 years of engineering design experience in control system & Field Instrument design in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industries.

Familiar with international Codes and Standards (especially IEC, ISA, etc.)

Experienced in SIL study and SIL verification work.

Able to use SPI software.

Good command in Bahasa and English (spoken and written)

Able to work independently with minimum guidance.

Able to work in team and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Registered with BEM (Board of Engineers Malaysia).
