Job summary

Lynas Rare Earths Limited is seeking an Electrical & Instrument Engineer to join our Kuantan plant team. You will support design, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems for plant projects and provide technical support during engineering, construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.

Responsibilities include delivering compliant E&I engineering deliverables, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Instrumentation/Control Eng with 5+ years in heavy processing plant design.
• Experience designing architectures using brands such as Emerson, ABB, Schneider, Honeywell, Yokogawa, Siemens and Allen-Bradley.
• Familiar with API, BS, ISO, ASME, ANSI, IEC codes and standards in oil & gas.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
• Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, development, and implementation of electrical and instrumentation works for plant projects in compliance with technical, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and review engineering deliverables including specifications, datasheets, calculations, cable layouts, equipment sizing, and technical docs for E&I systems and equipment.
• Coordinate E&I project activities including cost estimation, procurement, installation, construction support, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting while meeting budget and schedule.
• Conduct power system studies, load analysis, and technical evaluations while ensuring compliance with codes and licensing.
• Provide technical leadership and coordination with vendors, contractors, clients, and cross-functional teams, including participation in HAZOP, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

He/ She to support the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems for plant projects and provide technical support during engineering, construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Design, development, and implementation of electrical and instrumentation engineering works for plant projects in compliance with technical, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and review engineering deliverables including specifications, datasheets, calculations, cable layouts, equipment sizing, and technical documentation for E&I systems and equipment.
• Manage and coordinate E&I project activities including cost estimation, procurement, installation, construction support, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting to ensure successful project execution within budget and schedule.
• Conduct power system studies, load analysis, and technical evaluations while ensuring compliance with applicable engineering codes, standards, and licensing requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and coordination with vendors, contractors, clients, and cross-functional teams, including participation in HAZOP, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements of the successful candidate:

• Degree in Electrical/ Electronic/ Instrumentation/ Control Engineering or related fields with minimum 5 years’ experience in the engineering design and plant construction project for heavy or large processing industry.
• Competent and able to work and design architecture system with many brands such as Emerson, ABB, Schneider, Honeywell, Yokogawa, Siemens, Allan Bradley etc.
• Proficient in the codes and standard with the oil and gas industry such as API, BS, ISO, ASME, ANSI, IEC, etc.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to confidently interact with people of all cultures at all levels.
• Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English. Additional language will be an advantage.
• Must be willing to work in Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia.
