Job summary

Leading Global Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking an Inspector of Works to supervise site construction, monitor workmanship, and ensure compliance with drawings, specs, and safety standards. You will manage daily records, coordinate testing, and liaise with contractors and authorities to support project milestones.

The role requires strong problem-solving, the ability to read construction drawings, and proactive, independent work style with excellent communication during handovers.

Qualifications

• Experience in site inspection and quality control at construction sites.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making under field conditions.
• Meticulous, proactive worker able to operate with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills during construction and handover.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor all site construction works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Inspect workmanship, materials, and methods used at the site to ensure quality control.
• Report non-conformities or defects to the M&E Manager and follow up on rectifications.
• Ensure construction activities follow safety regulations and site safety procedures.
• Verify that works are executed in accordance with the construction program and highlight any delays or issues.
• Attend site, technical, and coordination meetings as required.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records, including daily work reports, inspection checklists, and photographs.
• Coordinate and witness testing of materials and systems (e.g., concrete cube tests, WWT system tests).
• Assist in the review and verification of contractor submissions, including method statements and shop drawings.
• Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and authorities on site matters.
• Monitor site environmental conditions and ensure compliance with environmental requirements.
• Provide support during handover, testing and commissioning, and project close-out stages.
• Undertake any other tasks assigned by Dept Manager
