Job summary

Meinhardt EPCM Sdn. Bhd. is seeking experienced Inspectors of Works (IOW) specializing in Civil & Structural, Architectural, Control, Networks or M&E/Electrical disciplines to oversee daily site construction, supervise installations, and enforce QA/QC standards in line with drawings, specs and Malaysian regulations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field.
• Must be certified with IOW.
• 3–10+ years of direct site supervision and QA/QC inspection experience in construction.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office; familiar with PDF markup tools.
• Experience with site QA/QC platforms and ACC.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily site construction and installations for Civil, Structural, Architectural, Control, Networks or M&E/Electrical disciplines.
• Ensure works comply with approved drawings, shop drawings, method statements and specs.
• Monitor contractors during earthworks, RC works, formwork, rebar, concreting and M&E installations.
• Inspect delivered materials for conformity to samples, tickets and quality standards.
• Record tests and inspections per ITP; witness T&C for M&E/Electrical systems.
• Maintain daily site diaries, inspection records, photos, progress reports.
• Log NCRs and defects; manage punch lists with ACC.

Job description

We are seeking experienced Inspectors of Works (IOW) specializing in Civil & Structural (C&S), Architectural (CSA), Control, Networks or Mechanical & Electrical (M&E / Electrical) disciplines. The successful candidate will oversee daily site construction, supervise installation and structural works, enforce strict QA/QC standards, witness testing and commissioning, and ensure full compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, and local Malaysian regulations.

Key responsibilities

Supervise daily site construction and installation works for Civil, Structural, Architectural, Control, Networks or M&E/Electrical disciplines

Ensure all works comply with approved structural/architectural drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and project specifications

Monitor contractors during structural works (earthworks, foundations, RC works, formwork, rebar, concreting, structural steel) or M&E/Electrical installations (power, lighting, cable containment, earthing, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection)

Inspect delivered raw materials, fixtures, and components for compliance with approved samples, batch tickets, and quality standards

Conduct structured inspections based on Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) before, during, and after key construction milestones

Witness and record critical structural, civil, and soil test results (concrete cube tests, slump, curing, foundation tests)

Witness and verify testing and commissioning (T&C) for M&E and electrical systems (Insulation Resistance, continuity, earth resistance, polarity, HVAC TAB, DB/SMDB/MDB, emergency power UPS/generators, and fire systems)

Maintain accurate daily site diaries, inspection records, checklists, photo documentation, and progress reports

Identify, log, and track non-conformances (NCRs), defects, and punch list items—utilizing digital site tools such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)

Enforce site safety plans, proper PPE usage, and safe working procedures in compliance with SHE and DOSH rules

About you

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in relevant fields or within Construction Management.

Must certified with IOW certificate.

Minimum 3 to 10+ years of direct site supervision and QA/QC inspection experience in building construction, infrastructure, or M&E/building services projects

Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Excel & Word), and PDF markup tools

Working experience with site QA/QC platforms and digital management systems (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud - ACC)

High attention to detail, strong observation skills, excellent problem-solving, confident on-site communication, strict adherence to safety/integrity, and ability to handle site stress
