Role Description

The Information Technology Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Johor Bahru. This role is responsible for maintaining and administering the company’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and end-user systems. Daily tasks include monitoring system performance, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, and implementing security measures to safeguard company data and networks. The specialist provides technical support to employees, responds to service requests, and ensures minimal downtime and efficient IT operations. The role also involves collaborating with vendors, assisting with IT projects and upgrades, and documenting configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Information Technology with experience supporting enterprise IT environments.
• Skills in Network Administration and Network Security, including configuring, monitoring, and securing LAN/WAN infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Troubleshooting for hardware, software, and connectivity issues, with a structured, analytical approach.
• Customer Service skills to support internal stakeholders, including clear communication and user-friendly problem resolution.
• Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux), desktop management, and common business applications.
• Experience with backup, recovery, and basic disaster recovery procedures is an advantage.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Relevant diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA, MCSA) are a plus.
