Job summary

UNITED BC TEAM SDN BHD is seeking a Sales Engineer to develop new business opportunities in Malaysia, focusing on automation and smart manufacturing. You will identify customer challenges, propose suitable automation solutions, and work with internal teams to win projects.

The role involves factory-based engagements, proposal development, and managing the sales cycle from qualification to closure, with regular customer travel to sites and meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Diploma in mechanical/Mechatronics/electrical/electronic/automation engineering or business.
• 2–4 years of B2B sales, business development, or sales engineering experience.
• Strong ability to develop and manage a sales pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within targeted industries and customer segments.
• Generate new sales leads through market research, networking, referrals, industry events, cold outreach, and existing networks.
• Build and maintain a healthy B2B sales pipeline and continuously identify new customers and projects.
• Qualify opportunities by understanding customer needs, requirements, budget, timeline, decision process, and commercial potential.
• Conduct customer meetings, site visits, and factory walkthroughs to understand operational challenges and identify automation opportunities.
• Collaborate with Technical Presales, Engineering, and internal teams to develop technical concepts and solutions.
• Present UB's solutions, capabilities, and value propositions to prospective customers.
• Prepare quotations, proposals, presentations, and tender documentation in line with pricing/discount policies.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at technical, operational, procurement, and management levels.
• Achieve assigned sales, pipeline, and business development targets.
