Job summary

Weidmüller Interface (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Sales Engineer to join our Penang team on a full-time basis.

You will bridge our technical capabilities with customer needs, identifying requirements, proposing tailored solutions, and driving revenue growth. You will build strong customer relationships, contribute to regional market expansion, and work with cutting-edge industrial technology in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation).
• 1+ years of experience in industrial sales.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Identify and qualify sales opportunities with potential and existing customers to understand their technical and business requirements.
• Develop and present customized technical solutions that address customer needs and align with company offerings.
• Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations to customers, translating complex technical concepts into business value propositions.
• Collaborate with internal engineering and product teams to ensure feasibility of proposed solutions and manage customer expectations.
• Prepare detailed technical proposals, quotations and supporting documentation for customers.
• Negotiate contracts and commercial terms with customers whilst maintaining profitability objectives.
• Build and nurture long-term relationships with key accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for additional business.
• Provide post-sale technical support and coordinate with service teams to ensure smooth project implementation.
• Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions and pipeline management using CRM systems.
• Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings and product innovations to enhance consultative selling approach.
