Job summary

Kelvin Eng Enterprise Sdn Bhd is seeking a Production & Productivity Improvement specialist in Melaka to monitor daily output, analyze capacity, and drive Lean initiatives on the factory floor. The role requires hands-on collaboration with operators and maintenance teams to enhance efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have a Diploma/Degree in Industrial- or Manufacturing-Engineering, 2–5 years in manufacturing, and strong problem-solving and data-analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing / production preferred.
• Fresh graduates with analytical and practical skills encouraged.
• Experience in concrete products or heavy manufacturing advantageous.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen and process improvement.
• Knowledge of Time & Motion Study, OEE, production planning and capacity analysis.
• Knowledge of data-analysis tools (Power BI) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily production output against targets and analyze capacity and productivity.
• Identify bottlenecks and recommend improvement measures / standard work.
• Lead Lean, 5S and Kaizen initiatives to reduce waste and losses.
• Improve machine utilisation, OEE and automation opportunities.
• Control material consumption and production costs without quality loss.
• Review factory layout and material flow to optimize movement.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly improvement reports and present to management.

1. Production & Productivity Improvement

Monitor daily production output against production targets.

Analyse production capacity, cycle time and manpower productivity.

Identify production bottlenecks and recommend improvement measures.

Monitor machine utilisation and production efficiency.

Establish and improve standard work processes.

2. Lean Manufacturing & Process Improvement

Implement Lean Manufacturing principles in daily operations.

Introduce and maintain 5S practices throughout the factory.

Lead or participate in Kaizen / Continuous Improvement activities.

Identify and eliminate unnecessary movement, waiting time, material wastage and other production losses.

Review and improve production processes, SOPs and Work Instructions.

3. Machine & Automation

Monitor machine downtime and identify recurring causes.

Work with Production and Maintenance teams to improve machine utilisation.

Monitor and analyse OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).

Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.

Assist management in evaluating new machinery, equipment and production technologies.

4. Material & Cost Improvement

Monitor cement, sand, aggregate and other raw material consumption.

Identify and reduce material wastage.

Assist in analysing manufacturing cost per piece / m².

Identify opportunities to reduce production costs without compromising product quality.

5. Quality & Waste Reduction

Monitor production defects and rejection rates.

Work with QA/QC and Production teams to identify root causes of defects.

Develop corrective and preventive improvement actions.

Assist in reducing product rejection, rework and production losses.

6. Factory Layout & Material Flow

Review and improve factory layout and production flow.

Improve movement of raw materials, pallets and finished products.

Reduce unnecessary forklift and worker movement.

Recommend improvements to storage, curing, production and loading areas.

7. Data Analysis & Reporting

Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production improvement reports.

Analyse production efficiency, downtime, rejection, material consumption and productivity data.

Develop Excel-based reports, dashboards and performance monitoring systems.

Present improvement findings and recommendations to Management

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing / production environment is preferred.
• Fresh graduates with strong analytical and practical skills are encouraged to apply.
• Experience in concrete products, precast concrete, construction materials or heavy manufacturing will be an advantage.
• Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen and process improvement.
• Knowledge of Time & Motion Study, OEE, production planning and capacity analysis.
• Knowledge of Power BI or other data-analysis tools will be an added advantage.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to work hands-on at the factory floor and interact with production operators.
• Strong initiative with a continuous-improvement mindset.
