Job summary

Private Advertiser in Penang, Malaysia is seeking an logistics officer with 2–3 years of experience in import, shipping, freight forwarding or logistics operations to manage end-to-end shipments.

The role requires knowledge of import procedures, documentation, customs clearance and port operations, with familiarity of BL, DO, AN, invoices and packing lists. Strong coordination with carriers and agents, good English and Bahasa Malaysia, and MS Office proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in import, shipping, freight forwarding, or logistics operations.
• Knowledge of import procedures, documentation, customs clearance, and port operations.
• Familiar with shipping documents such as BL, DO, AN, invoices, packing lists, and customs documents.
• Experience coordinating with shipping lines, NVOCCs, freight forwarders, customs agents, hauliers, depots, ports, and customers.
• Knowledge of container movement, demurrage & detention, free time, storage, and trucking arrangements.
• Able to monitor vessel schedules, container arrivals, transshipment connections, and cargo delivery status.
• Familiar with Customs/port systems and electronic documentation.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Able to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

Knowledge of container movement, demurrage & detention (D&D), free time, storage, and trucking arrangements.

Able to monitor vessel schedules, container arrivals, transshipment connections, and cargo delivery status.
