Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking an experienced HSE Specialist to provide specialist expertise and technical leadership for SSHE management systems in oil and gas operations in Malaysia. The role emphasizes risk assessment, incident investigation, audits, and compliance with local and international standards.

You will support offshore and onshore activities in Bintulu, Sarawak, holding recognized accreditations and maintaining certifications throughout the contract.

Qualifications

• Accreditation from DOSH, PETRONAS, NEBOSH or equivalent.
• Maintain certification throughout the contract duration.
• Familiar with HAZOP, HAZID, QRA, SIL, and process safety management.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist expertise and technical leadership for SSHE management systems in oil and gas operations.
• Conduct robust analysis including assessment, modelling, calculation, and cost-benefit studies.
• Align SSHE plans with industry standards and perform performance reviews.
• Coordinate SSHE risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Develop and maintain SSHE standards, procedures, and guidelines.
• Coordinate regulatory engagement to ensure SSHE compliance.
• Conduct SSHE audits and assurance programs for continuous compliance.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and report lessons learned.
• Review project design and engineering documents for compliance with codes and standards.

Job description

HSE Specialist - General role providing specialist expertise and technical leadership for effective implementation of HSE management systems in oil and gas operations.

Key responsibilities

Provide specialist expertise and technical leadership for effective implementation of SSHE management system

Perform robust technically sound analysis and studies including assessment, modelling, calculation, and cost-benefit analysis

Assess SSHE plans and strategies to ensure alignment with industry standards, incorporating performance and effectiveness review

Facilitate comprehensive risk assessments specific to oil and gas operations, identifying potential hazards and implementing effective mitigation strategies

Develop, implement, and maintain SSHE standards, procedures, and guidelines aligned with legal legislations and industry-specific requirements

Develop SSHE and regulatory compliance plans and strategies that align with operational and project requirements

Coordinate engagement with regulatory and statutory bodies to ensure sustainable compliance with SSHE requirements

Conduct SSHE audit and assurance programs to ensure continuous compliance

Facilitate incident investigation including investigating, analyzing, identifying root causes and reporting incidents, and prepare lesson learned reports

Conduct document review services for projects, reviewing design, engineering, and related documents for compliance with applicable codes and standards

About you

Hold valid accreditation or certification from an approved accreditation body, such as DOSH, PETRONAS, NEBOSH, or any other established accreditation body

Maintain certification throughout the duration of the contract and ensure compliance with all applicable SSHE requirements

Familiar with HAZOP, HAZID, QRA, SIL and process safety management elements

Requirement

Min 7 years experience in Malaysia Oil & Gas industry, experienced working offshore.

Willing to work on-site (offshore & onshore - Bintulu, Sarawak)

Possess valid BOSIET/T-BOSIET certificate

Malaysian - Sarawakian candidates will be prioritised.
