Job summary

EP Engineering is seeking a DOSH-certified Safety & Health Officer to lead HSE activities for oil and gas operations in Malaysia. The role requires 5-7 years of relevant experience in engineering, maintenance, projects, or construction with strong knowledge of OSH regulations.

Candidate must hold a recognized engineering degree or Safety & Health qualification, and be proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Malaysian nationality, preferably Sarawakian, is preferred.

Qualifications

• DOSH-certified SHO in compliance with OSH Regulations 1996.
• Degree in any engineering discipline or Safety & Health qualification with 5-7 years in oil and gas operations, maintenance, projects or construction.
• Experience in Contractor Management and HSE requirements.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia; other local languages a plus.
• Malaysian nationality, Sarawakian preferred.

Job description

• Possess a DOSH-certified Safety & Health Officer (SHO) in compliance to OSH (Safety & Health Officer) Regulations 1996.
• Possess a recognized degree in any engineering discipline or possess Safety and Health Certificate by NIOSH or recognized Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent Technical / Engineering Diploma with 5-7 years working experience in oil and gas operations & production activities, maintenance, projects or construction works.
• Experience within the HSE requirements of Contractor Management.
• Ability to work in a team environment with minimum supervision.
• Experience & knowledge of OHSAS 18001 & ISO 14001 Management Systems.
• Able to lead assurance activities at site e.g. Line of Defence (LOD1) etc.
• Proven ability to manage performance, competence, HSE plan of contractors & employees.
• Proven ability to engage, manage change & deploy HSE Improvement tools & initiatives across the organization.
• Good understanding of the rules, practices & regulations in Malaysia.
• Must be proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Proficiency in any other local language (e.g. Iban) is an advantage.
• Preference will be given to candidate who has experience working with high H2S in both onshore and offshore facilities.
• Must be Malaysian and preferably Sarawakian.
