Job summary

George Town World Heritage Incorporated in Penang is seeking a Human Resource Officer to manage recruitment, onboarding, training, appraisal, payroll, and HR policies. You will report to the Administrative and Finance Manager and help ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in HRM, at least five years’ experience, excellent English and Malay, strong communication and multitasking skills, and familiarity with MS Office and payroll systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in HRM or related field.
• Minimum five years of HR experience including payroll, recruitment, and training.
• Good knowledge of labour laws in Malaysia; civil servant regs an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and execute recruitment, including job descriptions and advertising.
• Maintain staff records and ensure policy compliance.
• Administer payroll, overtime, staff claims and leave summaries.
• Conduct orientation for new staff and exit interviews.
• Develop staff training and capacity-building programs.
• Review policies to ensure legal compliance and equity.
• Provide cross-department support and monthly updates to management.
• Establish effective working relationships and maintain proper documentation.
