Job summary

Qualifications

• Proven ability to manage stakeholders from C-Suite to union representatives.
• In-depth knowledge of Malaysian labour law, industrial relations practices, and foreign worker management.
• Preferred: leading a workforce of 1,000+ in a large manufacturing company in a unionised setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full spectrum of HR functions, including talent acquisition, compensation & benefits, performance management, and employee relations
• Develop and continuously improve HR policies, frameworks, and SOPs to support business objectives
• Lead and mentor a team of approximately 12 HR professionals, providing strategic reporting to the C-Suite
• Manage union relations, including collective agreement negotiations and dispute resolution
• Oversee disciplinary processes, grievances, and domestic inquiries, acting as primary advisor on IR/ER matters
• Take ownership of foreign worker matters, including work permits, FOMEMA, welfare, and government liaison
• Ensure compliance with the Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act, Trade Unions Act, and other statutory requirements
• Strengthen HR governance, internal controls, and payroll accuracy
