The HR Manager will be responsible for establishing and managing the full Human Resources function in the company as it expands the manufacturing operations in Malaysia. This role will lead manpower planning, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, HR policies, compliance, training, and organizational development. As part of a new manufacturing setup and growing organization, the HR Manager will play an important role in building the workforce, HR structure, policies, processes, and company culture from the ground up.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and continuously improve HR policies, procedures, SOPs, employee handbook, and HR operational processes
- Develop HR strategies aligned with the company's business expansion and manufacturing requirements
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for managerial, engineering, technical, administrative, and manufacturing positions
- Work closely with department heads to develop manpower plans and hiring priorities
- Manage employee relations and maintain a positive and productive working environment
- Handle disciplinary matters, grievances, counselling, investigations, and employee disputes professionally
- Oversee payroll administration, attendance, overtime, allowances, incentives, and employee benefits
- Establish and manage performance appraisal and KPI systems
- Identify training needs and develop annual training plans and manage internal and external training programmes
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian employment and labour legislation
About you
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Psychology, Management, or a related discipline
- Minimum 8–12 years of HR experience, preferably within the manufacturing industry, with several years in a managerial or leadership capacity
- Strong experience across general HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, industrial relations, compensation & benefits, payroll, performance management, and HR compliance
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment and labour legislation
- Experience managing both white-collar and blue-collar/manufacturing workforce
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Hands‑on, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a fast‑growing and evolving organization
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees across different levels of the organization
- Experience in a new factory setup, manufacturing expansion, greenfield project, or rapid workforce ramp‑up will be highly advantageous
