Job summary

Businesslist in Malaysia is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead the HR & Admin department in Selangor on a permanent basis. The role covers recruitment, training, compensation, employee relations and general administration.

You will oversee the full recruitment cycle, Training Needs Analysis, payroll and benefits, and ensure compliance with the Employment Act 1955. A Bachelor's degree in HRM and at least five years in HR (three as a manager) are required, with strong English and Bahasa

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Human Resource Management or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of HR experience, including 3 years in a HR Manager/Assistant Manager role.
  • Experience using Timesoft & Info Tech HR systems is preferred.
  • Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken).
  • Solid knowledge of the Employment Act, 1955.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee HR and Admin department operations.
  • Lead talent acquisition, recruitment, and onboarding.
  • Coordinate Training Needs Analysis, orientation, and training records.
  • Oversee payroll, benefits, and cost allocation, ensuring policy adherence.
  • Manage employee relations, disciplinary processes, and counselling as needed.
  • Handle day-to-day office administration and support duties.

Job description

Position Title: HR Manager

Tenure: Permanent

Responsibilities

Overseeing HR & Admin department

(A) Talent Acquisition / Recruitment
  • Administer recruitment and deployment process.
  • Recruit, source and select candidates with the right competencies and attitudes on a timely basis.
  • Explore and determine effective recruitment channels.
  • Assist and advise on the company's workforce requirements.
  • Ensure full recruitment cycle follows procedure.
  • Negotiate hiring and prepare documentation.
  • Ensure new employee profile access setup in HR system.
  • Draft and finalise job description with the respective department HOD.
  • Sourcing for any ad-hoc project related professional candidates.
(B) Training & Development
  • Handle overall training processes, including preparing a training needs analysis, training plan and training record.
  • Involve in new employee orientation programme and ensure employees learn how to use the HR system.
  • Responsible for the Training Needs Analysis (TNA). Work with all HODs to prepare the mapping of training needs for the company.
  • Record all employees' training updates, attendance, evaluation and certification.
  • Work with all departments for those professional training needs.
  • Plan for critical positions.
  • Work with all HODs on probation assessment and annual assessment.
  • Work with related departments on the performance improvement plan.
(C) Compensation and Benefit Management
  • Ensure the probation assessment & evaluation process is carried out.
  • Assist and advise management on salary increment and bonus proposals.
  • Administer welfare & benefits in accordance with policy.
  • Ensure all confirmed staff have group insurance coverage and that policy is updated.
  • Ensure all employees are registered & have medical coverage with the panel.
  • Propose & implement different allowances.
  • Administer payroll process (data collection, entry, processing, upload, reporting).
  • Ensure related projects departments submit monthly timesheet reports.
  • Prepare employee cost allocation report.
  • Administer employee expenses claim & commission, ensuring all claims follow entitlement.
(D) Employee Relations & Industrial Relations
  • Administer and plan employee activities.
  • Responsible for all disciplinary issues.
  • Prepare performance improvement plan for specific employees.
  • Provide counseling and consult with employees when required.
(E) Administration
  • Responsible for the day‑to‑day office administration function & duties.
  • Ensure all office supplies, stationery and pantry refreshments are stocked to required levels.
  • Manage office maintenance and related services to ensure continuity of use.
Skills and Requirements
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business Human Resource Management.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in HR, and 3 years’ experience as a Human Resource Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Experience using Timesoft & Info Tech HR systems is preferred.
  • Good in both spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Strong managerial skills.
  • Well versed with the Employment Act, 1955.
